Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Bharat Mart Dubai, a warehouse to support Indian exports, while he was in the United Arab Emirates. The Bharat Mart, a multi-use structure with a proposed total area of approximately 100,000 square meters, will house a range of retail, hospitality, and warehouse areas. The Bharat Mart will be situated in the Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZA), which is overseen by DP World.
Bharat Mart’s retail showrooms, warehouses, offices, and other ancillary facilities will contain a range of items, from perishables to heavy machines. There are also plans to establish a digital marketplace where clients can buy products from the facility from anywhere in the world.
Indian companies would be able to expand across continents like Europe, Africa, and even the US with the help of Bharat Mart. The ability will help reduce the cost and time of delivering goods between India and other countries, experts told ET.
